Summer Nights

Every Thursday during the summer downtown Rapid City brings out free fun for the whole family! Live music, local & regional artisans, food vendors, an art walk, beer tent and entertainment activities for the kids change every week.

 
 

Main Street Square

Main Street Square, in Downtown Rapid City, is filled with activity all year long. During the summer months, visitors to the square can enjoy an interactive fountain display. In the winter, the fountain transforms into an outdoor ice skating rink that rivals Rockefeller Square. There are also several events held throughout the year including outdoor concerts, Movies Under the Stars, arts and wine festivals, a farmers market and more.

Theatre

		Black Hills Community Theatre For four decades people in Rapid City have been entertained by local actors and actresses at the Black Hills Community Theatre. Along with its regular show series, the community group also offers children’s and dinner theatre series.
		Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Major concerts and touring Broadway shows appear regularly at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, often to sell-out crowds.
		The Dahl Arts Center Theater and musical performances are held year round at The Dahl Arts Center housed in the new John T. Vucurevich Event Center which opened in January 2009.
		Firehouse Brewing Co. Dinner Theatre The Firehouse consists of the restaurant and lounge, complete with live music all week during the summer. On the third level there is a dinner theater called the Firehouse Dinner Theater.
		Chuckwagon Supper & Show Experience great grub and cowboy crooning with a chuckwagon supper and show which have been entertaining with their truly Western dinner shows. Three of the areas best chuckwagon shows; Flying T Chuckwagon and Show, Fort Hays Chuckwagon and Cowboy Music Variety Show, and Circle B Chuckwagonand Cowboy Music Show.

 Along with family-friendly attractions, shopping and dining options, Rapid City also offers visitors a unique night-life. Kick back or kick up your heels in one of our local night clubs or take in a show at a community theatre.
 
 

Movie Theaters

Rapid City has three movie theatres, including the largest movie screen in South Dakota at the Elks Theatre. Call theaters for movies and show times.

Night Life

You’ll find a variety of sports bars & grills, dance clubs and lounges located throughout the city limits. Many located in Downtown Rapid City are within walking distance of each other.
