The Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureau, often called the Rapid City CVB, is a non-profit destination marketing organization promoting leisure travel, special/sporting events and group travel/tours to Rapid City and the Black Hills Area.
What the Rapid City CVB does for you is provide you with information about specific attractions, guides and maps to help you plan your vacation. We also work very hard with convention and meeting planners, providing location help, welcome packet information and other resources that help bring sporting events or group tours to our city. |

Potential visitors can request a copy of our Rapid City Vacation Planner via our online website, toll-free number, email or snail mail requests. Additionally, tourism and hospitality members provide brochures to be displayed in our visitor information center located at our office in the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Here, visitor information specialists, provide local expert assistance directly to walk-ins or call-ins to make their vacation planning easy and flawless. Motorcoach: The Rapid City Convention & Visitors Bureau actively cultivates contacts in domestic and international travel trade to increase the group tour business in Rapid City. We aggressively market to tour operators and niche group leaders through industry publications, trade shows, sales missions, prospecting, targeted sales calls and familiarization trips to generate leads and business prospects. The Goal of the Sports & Events niche of the Rapid City Convention and Visitors Bureau’s is to work with local, state, regional and national associations to encourage them to bring sporting events and competitions to Rapid City. We work with the local organizations to ensure their events get marketed outside of Rapid City through various marketing efforts with the help of the Rapid City Sports Council. We want to make sure that these events grow and our local organizations build a good base which will enable us to host larger regional and national events.
